Tom Hardy isn't comfortable being compared to movie "legends".
The actor has had a great run of movies recently, appearing as the title character in Mad Max: Fury Road and taking on both of the Kray twins Ronnie and Reggie in the hotly anticipated Legend.
He's been compared to the likes of Marlon Brando and Robert De Niro in the past but it's not something Tom believes is justified.
"I have never believed in any of that talk," the modest 37-year-old told the British edition of OK! magazine. "You're talking about legends whose careers are filled with great films and performances that are going to be talked about for decades to come. I haven't done anything near what they've accomplished."
But Tom has more than just films to concentrate on: he also has son Louis, seven, with his ex Rachael Speed and is expecting another baby with wife Charlotte Riley. The actor used to suffer with an alcohol and drug addiction, but has been clean since 2003. Starting a family made it even more crucial for him to stay on the straight and narrow.
"It's the best thing that I could ever have wished for," he said of fatherhood. "I was very self-indulgent for a long, long time and I was only thinking about my own stupid stuff and myself. Having a child lifts you out of that selfish behaviour. When you're faced with that kind of responsibility it forces you to be a better man and live a healthy life."
