Tori Spelling’s friends are reportedly worried she is heading for a nervous breakdown.

The 41-year-old star has gone through a difficult few years. She fell pregnant with her youngest son Finn just a couple of months after giving birth to her third child Hattie and developed a condition called placenta previa, which almost killed her while she was expecting him.

More recently her marriage has been rocked by her husband Dean McDermott’s admission of being unfaithful, with the couple televising their struggles, and counselling sessions, in their reality TV show True Tori. Over the weekend she was hospitalised and, after an initial Ebola scare, she’s now thought to be suffering from pneumonia. Her friends are said to be deeply concerned that her current illness is actually a cry for help.

“I am hoping that shedding some light on it for all of her fans to read may actually lead her to seek some change in her life... kind of like David Hasselhoff watching the drunk video of himself eating a hamburger,” an insider told TMZ.

David’s daughter released the infamous video of him in an effort to make him acknowledge his drinking problem.

Multiple sources have spoken to the US site, suggesting the pressure Tori is under is starting to have an effect. It’s claimed her marriage problems are getting worse as she is concerned Dean may start drinking again – he has publicly blamed his cheating on alcohol.

The couple are also rumoured to be experiencing financial problems – something Tori has alluded to in the past – and she is said to be “compromising her health” by not eating properly as she thinks she is ill.

Even though she is confined to a hospital bed, Tori has still been using social media, taking to one site to post a cryptic post yesterday. It’s thought the message was a pot shot at Dean, following reports he hasn’t been with her at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.

“This sick in hospital I finally see how quickly life can take it all away frm you,” she wrote on Instagram.

“We all need 2 step up frm inside& go 4 it! W/our friends by our side. Sadly I've finally faced truth that 1 person will never be there 4 me #TrueTori (sic).”
