(Cover) - EN Movies - Twilight’s Breaking Dawn – Part 2 has sold out of midnight showtimes nearly 48 hours before its North American premiere.

The final installment of the vampire saga has already shattered franchise records internationally after opening earlier this week.

Twilight superfans in North America have meanwhile been snapping up tickets to the film’s first midnight showtimes on Friday. Advanced tickets went on sale in America October 1.

Online ticket retailer Fandango reported on Thursday thousands of showtimes were already sold out in the US. The ticket giant represents 92 percent of movie sales.

“It’s the most anticipated moviegoing event of the season,” Fandango President Paul Yanover told Deadline.com.

According to the website, studio bosses are expecting the film to gross between $130 million and $150 million its opening weekend in North America. The numbers would represent a franchise record.

Deadline previously reported three out of four overseas markets have broken franchise records.

Sweden, Belgium and France all broke attendance records for Breaking Dawn Part 1. The Netherlands had the highest pre-day opening for the franchise with 50 screens pulling in 21,000 admissions for Part 2. That translates to gross sales of $392,000, compared to $218,000 for Breaking Dawn Part 1 and $246,000 for Eclipse.

The film is expected to surpass Part 1’s $428.6 million international total with gross earnings of $708.9 million worldwide.
