Jon Voight didn’t appear to know daughter Angelina Jolie had wed Brad Pitt when asked after the news broke.

A spokesperson for the couple of nine years confirmed Thursday morning to the Associated press they had wed at their home Chateau Miraval in France on August 23.

But when asked about the nuptials hours after the confirmation, Jon simply quipped, “That’s nice,” to CBS TV programme Inside Edition.

The actor, 75, was apparently across the world at the time of the wedding, according to US Weekly.

The outlet reports he was attending pre-Emmys and Emmys events all weekend to promote his new Showtime series, Ray Donovan.

The actor’s relationship with his daughter with late actress Marcheline Bertrand has gone through very public ups and downs.

The pair appeared to reconcile in 2010 after years of estrangement, and in June Jon was gushing over his granddaughter Vivienne’s acting debut in Maleficent, starring Angelina in the title role of the Disney villain.

"Magnificent. She's wonderful," he told UsWeekly at the time, adding that Viv reminded him of his own daughter, who made her acting debut in his 1982 comedy Lookin’ to Get Out.

Brad and Angelina have been together since meeting on the set of 2005 movie Mr. & Mrs. Smith. They became engaged in April 2012 and share six children.

Although many of the details about their nuptials are being kept private, it is known that the couple's children Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, Vivienne and Knox all had a hand in the ceremony, with Maddox and Pax walking their mother down the aisle, while daughters Zahara and Vivienne poured rose petals around the venue and Shiloh and Knox took on ring bearer duties.
