The zombie romantic comedy earned $19.5 million in its debut at theatres.

British actor Nicholas Hoult plays a member of the undead community who falls in love with one of his victims’ girlfriends in the comedy horror flick. Warm Bodies had a production budget of $20 million and will be profitable soon.

Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters landed in second place this week taking in significantly less than the winner with earnings of $9.2 million.

Famke Janssen plays the evil sorceress Muriel in Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters alongside stars Jeremy and Gemma Arterton who depict the classic fairy tale brother and sister duo. The feature has a twist, as the siblings are bounty hunters instead of victims in this novel adaptation of the 1812 Brothers Grimm story. Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters had a production budget of $50 million and has total gross profits of $34.5 million since it’s January 25 release.

Silver Linings Playbook remains a top three contender with ticket sales of $8.1 million. The Academy Award-nominated romantic comedy was released in November just before Thanksgiving last year and has earned $80 million in theatres thus far.
