Kerry Washington says it’s “amazing” watching her baby girl hit new milestones.

The Scandal star welcomed her first child with with husband, NFL cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha, back in April.

And five months later, Kerry insists she’s still feeling blissful about motherhood with little Isabelle, who stuns her every day.

“[She’s hitting milestones] all the time… it’s pretty amazing,” Kerry told People.com.

“[Motherhood is] wonderful. We just continue to feel very blessed,” she said.

The 37-year-old actress says she’s still “got some work to do” on her body since having the baby.

But she’s not stressing out about it too much, and has been relying on Pilates and healthy eating habits to get back her former figure.

“It’s such a great way to get in shape in a loving way,” she said. “I feel like I’m both challenging myself and healing my body at the same time.”

Kerry is known to be tight-lipped about her personal life.

She recently opened up to Cover Media about the struggle to find balance after becoming one of Hollywood’s most sought after leading ladies.

“For so long, I had this lovely balance, where I could work on all these great jobs and not have any of the fame,” she said on a promotional tour for series three of Scandal.

“I thought, ‘This is so great, no one bats an eyelid. And then Scandal and [2012 film] Django [Unchained] came along... Yeah, I am no longer anonymous.”

Nevertheless, Kerry is thankful for her continued success. Reflecting on her history-making role as Olivia Pope in hit US TV drama Scandal, the star can’t believe the strides she’s made.

“She’s [Olivia is] the first African American female lead of drama. There’s been comedies, half hours but of a drama, yes. Which is interesting because I’m not 40... yet, YET!” she laughed. “But not in my lifetime had I seen it. I often wonder if that was something I was looking to do or wanting to do because I didn’t know if it was a possibility really. So it’s very exciting.”
