Rachel Weisz used to be the cliché of a single woman.

The 45-year-old actress celebrates her fourth wedding anniversary with James Bond actor husband Daniel Craig on Monday. But while the star is blissfully happy now, she can remember a time when she was the stereotype of a sad singleton.

“I was often single and feeling alone in my 20s. I’d eat pizza at home by myself, rent movies, all the clichés...It was hard sometimes but you hope eventually you’ll find the right partner,” she told British newspaper The Mirror. “When I was younger, I worried about so many things and it was hard for me to feel happy or understand what made me happy. Once you reach your forties, you know where to look.”

The Oscar winning actress began dating the 47-year-old in December 2010 after she split from former fiancé and father of her child Darren Aronofsky. The couple married in a secret ceremony attended by only four people the following June. While they keep an extremely low profile, Rachel did offer a small insight into their home life.

“I love to cook. Daniel is also very good at it,” she smiled. “We always enjoy trying out different kinds of cuisine and having fun with that.”

While both stars are busy with their respective film careers, Rachel makes sure she gets to spend plenty of quality time with her son Henry, nine.

“The birth of my son was a major change,” she added. “I am so much happier since I became a mum. He is so much fun to be with. Some of the best moments come when Henry and I are talking about his day. Children really open you up to a completely innocent and unspoiled way of looking at things and you see things very simply. I just love being with him and appreciating everything that comes with being a mother.”
