(Cover) - EN Movies - Winona Ryder always ends up crying when she works with Tim Burton.

The actress had her first big break starring as Lydia Deetz in Burton’s Beetlejuice, and recently worked with the director on animation Frankenweenie.

Winona lends her voice to the character of Elsa Van Helsing in the comedy horror, and says the process of making the movie was emotional.

“To always be learning. That's something I've always taken away from working with Tim and from working on this movie,” Winona told Roundtable.

“There's really something we can all learn from this story too – and feel something too. I was in tears; Tim's movies always seem to have me in tears.”

The 40-year-old star’s role in Beetlejuice was followed by a part in Burton’s 1990 hit Edward Scissorhands.

Over time, the actress says the director has become one of her “favourite” people.

“Oh, it's always amazing [to work with Tim Burton]. I mean, I'm trying to think of new adjectives to use because it truly is just such a special experience all every time and, and even also just being around him when just he's one of my favourite people in the world just to be around,” she gushed.

“So it never really feels like work in that way even though it is very creative; but working with Tim is very different than other directors.”
