Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham and Dolph Lundgren met soldiers on the red carpet at ‘The Expendables’ premiere last night (09.08.10).

The trio of action stars happily chatted with troops from the British Army and posed for pictures at the event which was held at the Odeon Cinema in London’s Leicester Square.

The movie features an impressive array of big screen tough guys – including Bruce Willis, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Mickey Rourke, Jet Li and former wrestler Steve Austin – and director-and-star Stallone admits the testosterone constantly bubbling on set.

He told BANG Showbiz: “The testosterone was overflowing, it was like a tsunami. They’ll all say they checked their egos at the door – no chance!”

And the 64-year-old actor revealed his broken neck – courtesy of Austin – wasn’t the only injury suffered on set.

He said: “Oh man we were at the hospital every week. We had broken ankles, smashed ribs, spine injuries, you know, all the usual stuff.”

Stallone insists it wasn’t too difficult to get his old friend Schwarzenegger on board - he just threatened never to speak to him again.

He explained: “ I just said, ‘You know what, I’ve had lunch with that guy every Saturday for years so if he turns me down, I’m never going to eat with him again.’ ”

Other stars to grace the red carpet included Katie Price, director Michael Winner, rapper Professor Green and singer Eliza Doolittle.
