Lionsgate UK’s THE EXPENDABLES opened as the Number One film in the United Kingdom this weekend, having amassed an explosive estimated total of £3.7 million at the box-office, including paid previews.

Sylvester Stallone’s hard-hitting action thriller opened in cinemas across the country on Thursday 19th August, following the film’s chart-topping debut in the United States, which had made it the biggest domestic box office opening weekend in Stallone’s history. The film has grossed an estimated $64.89 million in North American box-office to date.

THE EXPENDABLES, the story of a band of former soldiers on a deadly mission, is a powerhouse of action movie talent, toplining writer-director Sylvester Stallone alongside Jason Statham, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Eric Roberts, Randy Couture and Steve Austin, with Terry Crews and Mickey Rourke. Adding to the film’s star-power are Bruce Willis and California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger in telling cameo roles.
