The Tri-Force Short Film Festival (TFSFF) began in 2012 with the main objective to present quality short films as well as support, recognise and honour filmmakers creating films under 20 minutes. Providing a platform for up and coming film makers to showcase their work on the big screen, this festival now has a vast and loyal network of over 30,000 people. Due to the great success Tri-Force has had, this Short Film Festival has plans to be bigger and better than ever!

TriForce Promotions was founded in 2004 by actors Jimmy Akingbola and Fraser Ayres. The company has gone from humble beginnings to becoming the leading networking organisation of the entertainment industry, based around a philosophy of inclusivity, NOT exclusivity. They are a unique company, creating opportunities for individuals and companies to develop and thrive within the industry. The TriForce network traverses race, class or position and provides a link to all in the creative industries from the bottom to the top, helping to broaden access and support talent. In 2014 their work was recognised when they became recipients of a grant from the prestigious Paul Hamlyn Breakthrough Fund.

The 2014 TriForce Short Film Festival will build on the success of previous years, and promises to be a high profile, star-studded event. The 2013 event took place at BAFTA and was attended by UK film and television actors and creatives such as Dakota Blue Richards, (Golden Compass), Aml Ameen, (The Butler), Hugh Quarshie, (Star Wars), Will Mellor, (Broadchurch), Nick Pinnock, (Captain America), Preeya Khalidas, (Four Lions), Philip Hedley CBE and of course the team behind TriForce; actors Jimmy Akingbola, Fraser Ayres and Minnie Crowe. The popular festival is taking place 22nd November 2014 at the prestigious British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) in London, where the shortlisted films will be shown to an audience and a panel of industry judges throughout the day.

The itinerary for the day will include a diverse collection of seminars and screenings, followed by a red carpet Gala event in the evening to showcase the winners for each category and announce the overall winner and audience choice awards. Each screening will be followed by a seminar, offering an expert insight into elements of the industry with leading industry professionals. Due to the large capacity of entrants in previous years, Tri-Force has decided to create 4 separate categories for the film awards, which consist of: Comedy, Drama, Animation and MicroShorts. Each category will have 4 finalists selected, with a winner announced for each category. The winning films from each category will be shown at a red carpet Gala event in the evening, where the TFSFF “Best of the Fest” and TFSFF “Audience Choice Award” will be announced.

Submissions are now open for the festival, and in keeping with TriForce’s ethos of enabling access for all, submission fees are kept deliberately low, with the MicroShorts category offering aspiring filmmakers with films under 5 minutes long completely free entry to the festival.
