Gwyneth ‘not surprised JLaw and Martin broke up’

Gwyneth Paltrow apparently “wasn’t surprised” Chris Martin and Jennifer Lawrence broke up.

It was rumoured the Coldplay frontman, 37, started dating the 24-year-old Hunger Games star in June, not long after he and Gwyneth announced the end of their marriage. They reportedly broke up this month, and it is said that the Iron Man 3 actress saw the split coming.

“Gwyneth wasn’t surprised by it,” a source told RadarOnline. “She never thought the relationship was going to last because of their age difference.”

Apparently the mother of Chris’ two children, Apple and Moses, also felt the break-up may have had something to do with her former husband’s desire to have more family time. It is claimed that perhaps Jennifer also saw the need for Chris to be around his children.

“Jen complained to Chris that she felt like the third wheel in their relationship because of all the time he spent with his kids,” the insider went on.

The musician surely had to balance family time with his new relationship. It is said that Gwyneth played a role in influencing him to set his priorities towards the children, and not Jennifer.

“Gwyneth always pressured Chris to spend more time with Apple and Moses,” the source said. “The kids would constantly call Chris when he was with Jennifer, and whatever they were doing would have to come to a standstill. There was always the expectation from Gwyneth that Chris should spend even more time with the kids.”

Reports surfaced of the alleged new couple’s breakup this week. Previously, they were spotted together arriving back at a Los Angeles airport after Jennifer watched Chris play at the iHeart Radio Music Festival.
