Aaron Paul has praised Ridley Scott’s “controlled chaos”.

The 35-year-old actor stars in the Biblically-inspired epic movie Exodus: Gods and Kings, which is directed and produced by the famed filmmaker. And he thinks Ridley’s work ethic contributed to making the movie a masterpiece.

“It’s like controlled chaos,” he explained to Access Hollywood, of Ridley’s sets. “I cant believe that we would finish the days that we had. We would shoot multiple pages in a single eight hour day. With other directors I think it’d take multiple days, but he’s a well oiled machine. He knows what he’s doing, he knows what he wants. It’s controlled madness all around us.”

Ridley has also been responsible for movies like Blade Runner, Hannibal, Robin Hood and Prometheus. According to the Breaking Bad star, he took on the story of Moses in a courageous manner.

“Whenever you’re telling a religious story you want to do it right. You want to approach it with a delicate hand,” Aaron said. “I thought they did a phenomenal job. I thought it was a brave take on Exodus but I think people are really going to respond.”

Speaking of brave, one of the most daunting scenes they had to take on was the infamous parting of the seas. And whilst a lot of CGI was used, Aaron reveals there was some real life madness involved, too.

“To create the current they had 20 jet skis lined up in a row on full blast creating current under the water,” he told the host. “It was really phenomenal!”

Aaron stars alongside Christian Bale and Joel Edgerton in the upcoming movie. He plays Joshua, whilst Moses is played by Christian. It’s set for release on December 12.
