Emma Watson’s Harry Potter castmates think she’s “good at everything”.

The 24-year-old actress, who famously portrayed Hermione Granger in the film series adapted from J.K. Rowling’s books, will be playing Belle in forthcoming live-action musical Beauty and the Beast.

In a joint interview, her Harry Potter co-stars Evanna Lynch and James Phelps said they think she’ll be amazing in the fairy tale, despite not being a professional singer.

"I imagine she's good [at singing]," Evanna told People magazine, with her colleague James declaring, "She's good at everything else!"

Evanna is sure Emma will have vocals down by the time the picture begins shooting.

"Emma works so hard," she noted. "Even if she's not naturally a good singer, she will make herself great at it. She's very conscientious."

Academy Award winner Bill Condon will be directing Beauty and the Beast, but the feature hasn’t yet cast the leading male role.

And apparently fans are requesting Tom Felton, who portrayed dark Slytherin character Draco Malfoy in Harry Potter movies, take on the part.

"People keep tweeting me like, 'Tom Felton for the Beast!’,” Evanna shared.

Emma has previously spoken about how excited she is to play classic fairy tale persona Belle.

“It was such a big part of my growing up, it almost feels surreal that I'll get to dance to 'Be Our Guest' and sing 'Something There',” she wrote on her official Facebook page this week. “My six year old self is on the ceiling - heart bursting. Time to start some singing lessons. I can't wait for you to see it. Emma x”

Beauty and the Beast is due to reach theatres in 2016.
