Pamela Anderson has quit social media.

The 47-year-old actress announced the news to fans on Saturday, but assured them that it is “nothing personal”.

She has now closed down both her Twitter and Facebook accounts and made her Instagram page private.

Revealing her decision, Pamela tweeted: “Bye Bye Twitter, Face Book and Instagram. Nothing personal.”

Pamela had been a regular user of the sites, and had over a million followers on Twitter.

The former Baywatch star has been hitting headlines in recent months, after she filed for divorce for a third time from husband Rick Salomon.

However, following Pamela’s filing, Rick stepped forward to seek an annulment on the grounds of fraud.

According to documents obtained by TMZ.com, Rick has insisted he has "solid proof" that the former Baywatch actress tricked him into getting married.

The pair confirmed they had wed for a second time in January 2014. While they kept details under wraps, it was thought to have occurred during the Christmas holidays while they were vacationing.

They were previously married for just 10 weeks after tying the knot in Las Vegas in October 2007.

Their second marriage quickly proved not to be smooth sailing either, though. Pamela, also 47, first filed for divorce on July 3, 2014, though she asked that the judge discard the filing soon after. It was rumoured that she filed the papers as a wake-up call to her husband and never planned on going through with the divorce. However, that appears not to be the case this time around.
