Drew Barrymore is a big fan of beards on men, but don’t get her started on goatees.

The actress, who will celebrate her third wedding anniversary with art consultant Will Kopelman on June 2, thinks there is nothing sexier than a man with nicely groomed facial hair. But when it comes to goatees or, heaven forbid, soul patches, there is nothing she dislikes more.

“I love beards. They’re the sexiest. But I will say that under no circumstances is a goatee OK. And soul patches are insanity! What is that all about?” she revealed during a quick-fire Q&A with Glamour.com.

When it comes to her own hair, she cites it as her favourite feature. Known for experimenting with her locks, they have been everything from blonde to brunette and even fiery red over the years, not to mention a multitude of lengths and textures.

“It takes a licking and keeps on ticking,” she laughed. “I destroy it time and time again, and it’s still there, semi-happy. I love playing with it; it’s like my personal plant – I keep getting to prune it.”

Now a happily-married mother to two young girls – Olive, two, and Frankie, who turns one next month – the 40-year-old opened up about the toll pregnancy took on her body. Not that she’s complaining, with the star clearly in awe of just what it is capable of.

“After making two babies, holy cow, does your body do some crazy stuff! It’s hard to stay positive and love yourself. You feel like a kangaroo with a giant pouch; everything’s saggy and weird. But you think about how beautiful it is that you’re able to make children,” she gushed. “When I lose sight of that, I exercise, read Dr. Seuss’s Oh, the Places You’ll Go! and spend time with my kids. Then I start to see things that are bigger than myself.”
