Freddie Prinze Jr. is releasing a cookbook.

The 39-year-old actor regularly prepares delicious and healthy meals for his family. And now Freddie will be sharing his best tips in Back to the Kitchen, due for release in 2016.

Confirming the exciting development, Freddie told E! News that his love of cooking runs deep, and he genuinely believes that if he hadn’t become an actor, his job would have been in the kitchen.

"I have been cooking longer than I've been acting—in fact, if I hadn't made it as an actor, I'd probably be a chef today," he said. "I was actually enrolled in culinary school when I landed my first role, opposite Michelle Pfeiffer and Claire Danes in To Gillian on Her 37th Birthday."

Freddie has since used his cooking skills to ensure his wife Sarah Michelle Gellar, 37, and two children Charlotte, five, and two-year-old Rocky fill up on mouth-watering and nutritious offerings. He added to the outlet that his family are his main motivation.

"Cooking has always been a huge part of my life—my mom encouraged me to explore the world through food and when I became a dad, I knew that I would do the same with my own kids," he said. "And nowadays when eating real food and enjoying home cooked meals is more important than ever, I'm thrilled to offer my fans (and would-be fans) some of the fresh, healthy and easy-to-make recipes my family and I love. “

Former Buffy the Vampire Slayer star Sarah is writing the foreword for her husband’s book.
