Tisdale: Nothing can hold me back

Ashley Tisdale is in no rush to have children.

The 30-year-old actress wed musician Christopher French back in 2014. But the former High School Musical star won’t be sticking to tradition and extending her family immediately now she’s a married lady.

“I always felt like, in every stage of my life, like a hot mess. It's okay not to be perfect,” Ashley told the American edition of Elle. “And just because I'm married doesn't mean I'm going to have a kid right away."

Ashley turned 30 back in July. She admits that reaching the landmark birthday has given her a new perspective on motivating herself in life.

“There's nothing that can hold me back,” she said. “It's like, if I wanna do something, I go for it.

"I'm not a very competitive person. And if I am, I compete with myself. I feel like, if you're meant to get something, you'll get something."

Ashley is currently pursuing a new business venture with the launch of her new blog, The Haute Mess.

The lifestyle website will feature blogs by Ashley and around 25 other content creator. The Clipped star says she loves the fact that The Haute Mess promotes female empowerment.

“Instead of having a site where everyone is doing something different, what if we just put it all together, like a magazine, and just support all of these other people'" she said. "I love this generation of girl bosses, all of these women going after what they want to do."
