Marion Cotillard is set to headline a French suspense film.

Marion - who appeared in critically acclaimed 2010 film Inception - will star in French director Jacques Audiard’s upcoming feature Rust and Bone.

The film is a follow-up to his previous work A Prophet, a feature that won the Special Jury Prize at Cannes Film Festival in 2009.

Rust and Bone is based on a short story collection written by Canadian author Craig Davidson of the same title. Jacques has co-written the script with Thomas Bidegain and has described the work as a mix of romance and suspense.

Set to be one of the biggest films coming out of France this year, Rust and Bone is budgeted at nearly $22 million.

French producer Pascal Caucheteux, who also produced Jacques’ A Prophet, will take the reins on this project. International film distributor Celluloid Dreams will handle worldwide sales.

Rust and Bone will shoot in the south of France and in Belgium for two and a half months beginning this autumn.
