When a group of film makers decide to make a film about an exorcism, authenticity is key. So they find an old building that was once witness to a real exorcism and set about making the film. When however the past comes back to visit the present, horror, fear and blood shed aren't far behind.

There is much to discuss in this film for a B movie lover and British film champion. I sometimes come across as hostile to certain UK made films. Why? well often it is because they fail there audience by being self indulgent or unfunny. This film is neither and is actually technically a very assured piece of film. It looks good, sounds solid (if not a touch like listening to an old radio with static) and has all the right generic elements present in it, that I could imagine will be pleased by the jumps and blood spurts. It has elements of 'found footage' films like 'Paranormal Activity', mixed with jump out of your seat scares of 'The Conjuring'. It is also thankfully very short and doesn't tax the bum nor the brain.

The downsides are the execution is far from clean and this makes the film feel less worthy than it deserves. This is to say that its mixing of titles and images flash's are unnecessary. I would go as far as to say they draw you out. It is also a tired story and the retelling would have been even more interesting if not for these titles. Editing out of order, creates a form of tension but it also jars the viewer if vastly throwing them around the films temporal realm.
Which this does, sometimes jumping days forward and back....

I would say stream this on netflix or buy the DVD. it wont be a repeat watch but Saturday night and pizza mix well I would imagine with this!

Things you may find as negatives aren't so.The diegetic fuzzy sound is irritating but this is intentional and adds to the foreboding. The acting ranges from OTT to plan lazy but once again it feels as if the director wanted to push you away from empathy for some of the grotty people in the space.
