Does the world need another film based on the Essex boys murders? Director Paul Tanter and writer Stephen Reynolds obviously think so. Do we need another movie in which three blokes spend most of the film shouting about being mugged off like a Muppet to each other? That will be for the audience to judge, Is this film anymore true to the real life story than any of its predecessors? Who knows. But if you like gangster movies British with loads of violence and swearing and a few tarts put into the mix for good measure then pull up a seat you are in for a treat me old son. The Fall of the Essex boys is not going to throw up anything stunningly original and it can at times verge on parody but if you stick with it then there is a nice twist at the end which will allude most viewers until it happens and make you think it was actually worth a worth a watch. The quality of the acting does vary amongst the cast and the directing could be a bit tighter but all in all you know what you are going to get with this movie and you get it, both barrels in fact.
