The global phenomenon that is Hannah Montana is back with her latest TV series Soundtrack, for Series 3 which is currently airing in the UK. It is believed that 1 in 4 children in the UK aged 4 – 15 would have seen this series, so the reach is wide.
For those that don’t know, Hannah Montana is about a teenager who runs a double life. The lead is played by Miley Cyrus, daughter of Billy-Ray Cyrus. Miley (Stewart in the series) is an average teenager, apart from she has an alternative identity when she dons a blond wig – Hannah Montana, the huge pop star.
This soundtrack takes the best tracks from the series, including some that involve her co-stars. Miley Cyrus also leads a double life in the real world, as she also releases songs under her real name. These are more rock orientated, although this Hannah Montana CD sees a closer shift to Miley Cyrus territory with a rockier sound on some tracks, such as It’s All Right Here and Mixed Up. Elsewhere Britney seems to be an influence, especially on Supergirl, which could easily slot onto the Circus CD. Miley’s country roots also show through on tracks like Just a Girl with a real modern country feel, a bit like LeAnn Rimes or similar.
Co-stars involvement is best represented by Mitchel Musso (brother of Metro Station member Mason Musso) with a really catchy track 'Let’s make This last 4 Ever’.
Basically, if you like Hannah Montana (and many do) or you like a bit of pop / pop/rock this will be right up your street
