A Little Red-Haired Girl moves nearby and Charlie Brown develops a crush. He cant help though that he is bad luck bundled up in a small frame. So it will be a miracle if he gets her to even look his way. Charlie explores other avenues to get the attention of one Little Red-Haired Girl. He tries a magic act. This goes a little wrong and Sally's (his sisters) act goes up the wall. Enter Charlie Brown and Snoopy's to the rescue. Charlie saves the act but ends up humiliating himself. Next Charlie signs up for the school dance. Snoopy teaches him all his best moves and as you can image it will all end very messy...

I loved Snoopy as a kid. I can remember it being the thing to watch. Now however, when I heard of the animated film version I was surprised and a little worried. Would It translate to a new audience? Would the kids get the strange humour? Would the unlucky Charlie ever get a break in the world of PC? Well I wasnt disappointed and I wasnt overly sold either. The film trotts along nicely and has moments of genuine humor and pathos. So that translates to the new audience. The strange, surreal humour balances nicely and because it is almost only in the Snoopy world it has the kids attention. The sad thing is that it is a little too much on the Snoopy world sometimes and that might bore an adult but i loved that. So the kids are alright, so to speak. Now the problem comes about with its happy / unhappy ending thing.

Charlie is lifes loser. He is also a nice guy and the happiness he gets is from his friends and the life he has with Snoopy and Woodstock. This is disrupted by the end. Snoopy has the similar situation but his ending is actually very good and I felt he should have a movie to himself. I just felt that we should not teach Children that you always get everything and that life is all sunshine. Truth is appreciated by kids because the reason kids are so amazing is that they know the truth. They also accept it. So if we tell them it they will respect us more than if we do not. The Snoopy movie would be a must watch for me, like the Minion movie it would work as a great piece of pure cinema!
