He knows he is next….

Brian Yuzna made films that were ahead of their time and as darkly comic as horror cinema could get. It was not poor timing that lead this film to be released deep in the 1980s. As the stock booms and market rises lead the few to become super rich, millions were left behind. I lived in these times and remember the gap growing ever larger. This film took a hard and fierce slap at the super rich, leaving nothing standing in its wake. Now you will never have seen a film like this or may never see one again in regards to it visual content. The finale is so shocking still that you will leave it mouth opened wide and gasping for words. I myself have seen it before, when it was run on the excellent film series Moviedrome. Then as now it left me in utter shock and horror. I am not talking about the acting, which is on par with independent 80s film. I am not talking about the direction, which is very good as most Yuzna films are. I am talking about the grim bodily horror that makes Cronenberg look like Walt Disney.

What you must remember is that this film is a direct satire on the world of the 80s but as little has changed it still rings true. The gauge of how good a film is often how it stings you. Do you think about it afterward and as such the gloppy, side ripping scenes stay with you. They are metaphors...very directly pointed out in the film and on the new exceptional commentary. They are also gross....

Great new transfer and fantastic bonus features...

You must own it!!!
