(Cover) - EN Movies - J.K. Simmons and Chris Elliott have joined the cast of a so far untitled movie starring Hugh Grant.

Actors Marisa Tomei, Allison Janney and Bella Heathcote have already signed up for the romantic comedy written and directed by Marc Lawrence.

ComingSoon reports the beginning of the film is set in 1998 and revolves around an English character named Ray Michaels, depicted by Hugh. Although Hollywood screenwriter Ray won an Academy Award for Best Screenplay, 15 years later the audience sees him broke, divorced and without any ideas for new scripts.

In order to keep himself afloat he signs up to teach a screenwriting class at a small university on America’s East Coast, and ends up falling in love with one of his older students, portrayed by Marisa, who is a single mother returning to education.

Co-producing with Liz Glotzer for Castle Rock Entertainment, Martin Shafer announced on Wednesday that J.K. will play Dr. Lerner, a friend of Ray's who is the head of the English department at the school.

Chris will play, "Jim, a Shakespeare professor and next-door neighbour to Michaels".

J.K. recently appeared in the alien abduction thriller Dark Skies and is starring alongside Ashton Kutcher and Josh Gad in the Steve Jobs biopic jOBS.

He also just finished filming comedy motion picture Barefoot directed by Andrew Fleming and co-starring Evan Rachel Wood and Scott Speedman.

Chris has been mainly working on television parts lately, playing Alyson Hannigan's dad on How I Met Your Mother and starring on the Adult Swim series Eagleheart.
