Anthony Hopkins will reportedly co-star opposite John Travolta in forthcoming crime drama Gotti.

Film financing, distribution and sales company IM Global Films is in Cannes shopping the feature with Anthony on board, according to Variety.

Gotti will focus on the real-life story of notorious crime boss John Gotti. The screenplay was penned by Leo Rossi.

John has landed the role of John Gotti Sr. in the biopic, while his real-life spouse Kelly Preston will play the wife of the late mafia don.

Lindsay had been linked to the role of Kim Gotti, John’s daughter-in-law, back in 2011. Her representative last year confirmed negotiations broke down over the part.

Captain America director Joe Johnston is attached to helm.

Marc Fiore is producing for Fiore Films while Ted Field, Thomas Devlin and Michael Froch are producing for Radar Pictures.

Anthony recently completed filming Darren Aronofsky drama Noah.

He already has eight films scheduled for release into 2014. The actor can next be seen in Dean Parisot action crime comedy Red 2. The film, co-starring Bruce Willis and Catherine Zeta-Jones, is scheduled to hit cinemas in the US in July.
