(Cover) - EN Movies - Liam Hemsworth is to star in Aurora Rising.
The casting news came out of the on-going Cannes International Film Festival in France, where Liam has been in attendance to promote his upcoming release The Hunger Games: Catching Fire.
Distributor Relativity Media has confirmed the 23-year-old star is cast in action movie Aurora Rising. He will portray a surfer from Southern California who becomes a fighter pilot. When he impresses during a complex debut mission, he is picked to form a team testing out new aircraft. Just as this happens, a major international disagreement takes place.
According to Deadline, the film is being penned by scriptwriter Christian Gudegast. Aurora Rising will be produced by Alexandra Milchan, Scott Lambert, Guymon Casady and Ryan Kavanaugh. Antonio Moura Santos Jr. is taking on executive producer duties.
Relativity Media’s next movie is Paranoia, a thriller which also stars Liam. It hits screens from August and is about a new employee at a major corporation who is given the opportunity to advance if he does his boss’ bidding. Paranoia boasts an all-star cast including Amber Heard, Harrison Ford and Gary Oldman.
Liam has been spotted at the on-going annual movie event with his Hunger Games co-star Jennifer Lawrence. They posed for photos alongside actor Sam Claflin and director Francis Lawrence at Baoli Beach at a party over the weekend.
Liam and Jennifer narrowly avoided disaster at the event when a pillar holding candles collapsed, only just missing smashing them on their heads as it fell.
