The Paperboy star has reportedly secured the leading role in Fox’s forthcoming crime drama.

Deadline reports Zac will portray a university student who helps authorities send criminals to justice. The actor’s persona is a fraternity president and lacrosse team captain who gets busted for drugs. Zac’s character then becomes an informant who carries on with his college antics while simultaneously fighting crime.

Fox has acquired the rights to Narc.

Julie and Rick Yorn from LBI are producing the picture with Matthew Riley.

No one has been chosen to pen the screenplay as of yet, but it is suspected Fox will select a scribe from its writers programme.

Zac has a plethora of projects on the go at the moment.

He will next be seen in Treehouse Pictures’ romantic comedy Are We Officially Dating? and is also starring in Open Road’s drama Parkland. Both movies are due for release in theatres later this year.
