Kate Beckinsale has husband text spats

Kate Beckinsale argues with her husband through text messages when they are on movie sets.

The British actress met her director spouse Len Wiseman on the set of the 2003 movie Underworld. The pair have gone on to work together on subsequent instalments of the popular vampire film franchise.

Kate admits it can be difficult to remain professional with her husband if they are having a disagreement at work, so rather than argue in public – they vent their frustrations via their cell phones.

"No, it's just so much fun to work with him!” Kate told the German magazine In when asked if it’s difficult being directed by her husband. “We've met on a movie set, so it's just normal to us. But if we fight we'll do it with text messages - then nobody notices it!"

Kate went on to discuss how she juggles her career with raising her 12-year-old daughter Lily.

The star is glad she can take Lily to movie sets with her, but admits it is more difficult now that her daughter is a teenager.

"It's a challenge. I'd like to divide myself and do both things simultaneously. But I'm lucky to have a job I can bring my kid along,” she explained. “That simplifies my life. But Lily's getting older and it's not that easy anymore when she was a baby. I can't keep taking her out of school that's why I didn't work for a few years."

The 38-year-old also admitted that her child prefers watching another famous vampire franchise to Underworld. Lily is a huge fan of the Twilight series, which her father Michael Sheen appears in.

"Yes, she loves them,” Kate replied when asked if Lily enjoys the Underworld movies. “She likes Twilight better but that's OK because her father acted in them. And also she's a bit too young for Underworld…"
