This year’s UK Film Festival will take place from 24 - 27 November, and will once again offer London audiences a unique chance to catch the latest award-winning short films on the big screen, including The Letter Room starring Oscar Isaac and Colour me Jane starring Penn Badgley.

Other shorts in competition are winners and nominees from the Cannes, Sundance, Odense, Aix-en-Provence, and Clermont-Ferrand Film Festivals. These include Al-Sit by Suzannah Mirghani, God’s Daughter Dances by Sung-bin Byun, The Long Goodbye by Aneil Karia, and the brilliant comedy We’re Not Animals by Noé Debré.

Besides a stunning selection of short films, the programme also includes Prano Bailey-Bond’s psychological horror feature Censor, which has just been nominated for 9 BIFAs.

Censor by Prano Bailey-Bond screens on Saturday 27 November at Soho Hotel Cinema.

The festival also offers cutting edge documentaries, including Lukas Ladner’s Eva-Maria, and animation films such as Something Borrowed, with the vocal talent of Jane Horrocks.

Films will be screened to the public every evening at two London venues: Soho Hotel Cinema, and Close-Up Cinema. Many screenings will be followed by Q&A sessions, after which there will also be an opportunity for informal discussion with the filmmakers. The 2021 programme has been curated by the twice Berlinale winning director Petros Silvestros.

This year’s edition also includes an online selection, streaming several feature films - Emrhys Cooper’s bitter/sweet comedy feature The Shuroo Process and the brilliant Chinese epic action feature Puppet directed by Dai Yilin and Stanley Yolk’s Everything of Value. The Lockdown Shorts Competition is also featured online, which celebrates some brilliant films made by filmmakers during lockdown.

Once again, the festival is delighted to offer candidates awards, sponsored by the revolutionary new film financing organization, CenterFrame, in various categories. Please see below for further details.
