(Cover) - EN Movies - Martin Freeman says The Hobbit has affected his life by "mythical proportions".

The British actor stars as the title character Hobbit Bilbo Baggins in the movie.

Martin described how unprepared he was for the much anticipated release.

“There’s still a part of me that doesn’t quite believe it’s going to come out. Not many things you do in your life take on mythical proportions," Martin told Empire magazine. "Because of Tolkien, and because of Peter, it’s the most anticipated film I’m sure I will ever do.”

Martin explained what it was like when he first saw the trailer for the movie.

The actor says it was only then he realized what he'd been working on was a film, rather than his real life. The movie marks the beginning of a new trilogy of films from The Lord of the Rings author Tolkien. It also reunited the cast with director Peter Jackson a decade after they first started working together on the epic The Lord of the Rings trilogy.

“It was like, f**k, I thought we were just doing it for ourselves," Martin laughed.

“It’s the fact that it’s Peter Jackson and he’s picking up Tolkien and doing what everybody wants to be done with it. It’s his vision, and it’s so so close, so close to my vision.”
