Tia Mowry is “so thrilled” that her sister Tamera has given birth.

The twins shot to fame in the hit US TV show Sister, Sister and have their own reality series Tia & Tamera. Tamera became a mom on Monday when she welcomed son Aden John into the world.

Tia has a son, Cree – who was born in June 2011 – and is delighted at the prospect of him having a cousin to grow up with.

"I am so thrilled and happy to be an auntie!" Tia told Us Weekly. "I now know the love that my sister has for Cree, it is overflowing."

Aden was born at Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles and weighed 9lbs 5ozs. This is the first child for 34-year-old Tamera and her husband Adam Housley.

Tia has already developed a strong bond with her newborn nephew.

"I've kissed her new bundle of joy at least one hundred times! I couldn't be happier for her," she smiled.

Tamera and Fox correspondent Adam were married in May 2011 and they regularly discussed their desire to start a family in episodes of Tia & Tamera.

The stars revealed their happiness at becoming parents when they announced the birth earlier this week.

“He is healthy, happy, strong, beautiful and our families are so excited to have another grandchild, cousin and nephew,” they said.
