(Cover) - EN Movies - Director Todd Phillips has confirmed The Hangover Part III will focus on Zach Galifianakis’ character.
Official images from the final instalment of the comedy franchise have been released. In one shot, Zach and his co-stars Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms and Justin Bartha are seen walking in a line as they cross a busy road in Las Vegas – bearing a resemblance to The Beatles’ iconic Abbey Road album cover shot.
This confirms the cast are returning to Sin City, where the first movie was set. Todd revealed that Las Vegas will be “just one of the stops” visited by the characters in the new film.
The director has also divulged that the movie will be based around Zach’s quirky character Alan.
“The Hangover Part III is Alan’s story,” Todd explained to Entertainment Weekly. “He’s going through a crisis after the death of his father, and the Wolfpack is all he has.”
It has been reported that two members of the Wolfpack - Bradley and Ed’s characters - will try to break Alan out of a mental institution. It has already been confirmed the new movie will be departure from the previous plots which were set around bachelor parties and weddings.
Todd insists the latest instalment will be “a fitting end to this three-part opera of mayhem and bad decisions.”
He also spoke about Ken Jeong’s character Mr. Chow, who will be making a return for The Hangover Part III. “He’s darker than ever,” Todd laughed.
A new image has been released of Mr. Chow brandishing a gun and a sheriff’s badge.
The Hangover Part III – also starring Heather Graham, Mike Tyson, John Goodman and Melissa McCarthy - is slated for worldwide release in May 2013.
