Natalie Portman is moving to Paris with her family.

The actress’ husband Benjamin Millepied was named director of the Paris Opera Ballet on Thursday.

Benjamin famously transformed Natalie into a ballet dancer when he served as a choreographer for Darren Aronofsky’s 2010 thriller Black Swan.

Natalie won an Oscar for the role.

She began dating the dancer during filming in 2009 and they married last August. The couple share a 19-month-old son, Aleph.

Benjamin, 35, left his post as a principal dancer for the New York City Ballet in 2011.

He moved to Los Angeles with Natalie and founded his own dance company, the L.A. Dance Project, which made its debut in September.

The couple have some time to plan their move. Benjamin told The New York Times his work with the Paris Opera Ballet will begin in September 2014.

He will replace the company’s current dance director, Brigitte Lefevre, who has served in the role since 1995.

Speaking to the Times, Benjamin said he was approached very recently about the position.

He admitted his surprise the company turned to him when it was widely thought within the dance community the coveted role would be filled from within.

“I was surprised, but I felt very quickly that the artistic dialogue between us was an exciting one. After a while I did feel there was a really good chance I might get the position. Which made my head spin,” he said.

Benjamin plans to continue his work with L.A. Dance Project until the family’s move to Paris.
