Michael B. Jordan: Sylvester Stallone wore me out

Actor Michael B. Jordan says he and Sylvester Stallone "pushed each other to breaking point" while filming Creed.

Sylvester slips back into the iconic role of Rocky Balboa while Michael joins him as Adonis Johnson for the movie due out later this month (Nov15). The duo loved working together and 28-year-old Michael believes they managed to get the best out of each other.

"I think Sly is an amazing actor and he gives you whatever you need in your scene," the star gushed to ET Online. "I would like to think that we pushed each other in those scenes to the breaking point, to those limits where you found the raw emotion."

Rocky is arguably Sylvester's most memorable role, with the 69-year-old first bringing the fighting figure to screens in 1976. A lot has changed this far down the line and Michael thinks it's interesting to see a new side to such a tough character.

"You're used to seeing him as the hero and in the ring," he mused. "To see him start to slowly age and the time kind of getting to him… To see him as his weaker character, you get caught up in it, in the moment, because this guy has lost his fight."

Of course joining the franchise meant Michael also had to get down with some of the moves in the ring. Luckily there were no serious injuries, but it wasn't always easy.

"I didn't get knocked out or anything like that, but yeah there were definitely some slips, some jabs, some body punches," he recalled. "You're going to take those. There's nothing you can do about that. You just got to eat those.

"You get mentally tired and the fatigue kicks in. You're supposed to slip left, slip right and he's throwing right and you get hit. That's kind of the thing that happened."
