Nina Dobrev and Ruby Rose eyeing roles in XXX sequel

Nina Dobrev, Ruby Rose and Bollywood star Deepika Padukone are reportedly in talks to join Vin Diesel in his XXX follow-up.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the leading ladies are all in various stages of negotiations at this time.

Should the actresses come to an agreement with studio executives, they will star alongside Diesel and Samuel L. Jackson on the cast.

Furious 7 star Diesel made a name for himself in 2002's XXX, but didn't return for the sequel XXX: State of the Union in 2005. Diesel has, however, signed up for XXX: The Return of Xander Cage, which begins shooting later this month (Jan16) and is expected to be released in 2017.

F. Scott Frazier wrote the script for XXX: The Return of Xander Cage and D.J. Caruso will direct the project. Plot details have remained unconfirmed, but it is believed Diesel's titular character Xander Cage, an extreme sports athlete turned spy, will find himself surrounded by a group of seductive fighters and a range of hilarious personas in the new movie.

Action star Diesel is co-producing the film with his sister Samantha Vincent, Joe Roth and Jeff Kirschenbaum.

Although the movie has yet to land a distribution deal, it's claimed Paramount is seriously considering backing XXX: The Return of Xander Cage.
