Alicia Vikander often feels out of touch because of her busy work schedule.

The Swedish actress has become a fully fledged star thanks to lead roles in Ex Machina, The Danish Girl - which won her an Oscar - and, most recently, Jason Bourne. But with so much on her plate the 27-year-old has little time to spend with those close to her, as she's constantly preparing for her next part.

"It's being out of touch with my friends and family for long periods of time," she sighed to Britain's Look magazine about the most difficult part of being an actress. "It's almost impossible to plan getting together because you never know exactly where you're going to be because new projects are constantly popping up and you're often shooting in different parts of the world. I've basically spent the last four or five years living out of three suitcases and going from home hotel to another."

Alicia doesn't dislike her lifestyle though, noting that the constant travelling is also what makes her life exciting.

One of the reasons Alicia got into acting is her mother Maria, who performs on the stage. Although her mum wasn't unsupportive of her daughter's dream to pursue a similar path, Alicia can now see why her parent was slightly hesitant.

"When I was starting out, my mother would constantly ask me if I was sure about my career choice," the brunette beauty recalled. "Every time she did that, I would get annoyed but as I gain more experience, the more I understand why she kept asking me...

"When it comes to acting, not only do you have to like it, you have to love it with all your heart. Otherwise you won't have the strength to survive in this profession."
