Dame Helen Mirren is urging Americans to vote in the upcoming presidential election to avoid getting stuck with a candidate they do not want in office.

The Queen actress is using Great Britain's botched vote to leave the European Union in June (16) as an example of what could happen if people stay away from the polls next month (Nov16).

Many Brits opted not to vote in protest and most were shocked with the results of the referendum, which prompted Prime Minister David Cameron to step down.

"I've done a few things that I've regretted in my life, and you probably have too," she says in the new No Regrets video for social media campaign Humanity for Hillary, "but I think those things would pale in comparison to the regret you'll feel after November the 8th if you don't vote.

"You know, no one really thought that Great Britain would leave the European Union, but it did. And this was not only a hit to our economy but to our humanity. Because this was a vote cast in fear rather than hope. Don't make the same mistake we did."

The 71-year-old doesn't mention former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton or her presidential opponent Donald Trump directly in the video, but it's clear she's supporting the former First Lady.

"Please make sure you vote, so you don't have abstainers' regret," she continues. "Because love must trump hate."

Helen's video message comes a day after British actress Emma Watson urged U.S. women to vote because she feels there is a lot at stake for all women.

"At times, politics may seem disillusioning, filled with rhetoric and smokescreens," she wrote on Facebook on Tuesday (25Oct16). "However, regardless of our personal beliefs, it can't be denied that the result of the upcoming U.S. presidential election will have ripple effects around the world and impact, in one way or another, the lives of millions and millions of people."
