Jamie Foxx is making his directorial debut with new movie All-Star Weekend.

The comedy follows the story of two tow-truck drivers named Malik and Danny, played by Foxx and Jeremy Piven.

The friends are obsessive fans of basketball, specifically players LeBron James and Steph Curry, and end up winning tickets to the NBA All-Star Game.

En route to the big game, Malik and Danny meet the “beautiful and mysterious” Asia, played by Eva Longoria, and after many twists and turns, the duo finds themselves and their heroes in a precarious life-or-death situation.

Jessica Szohr has signed onto play Danny's girlfriend Abby, who is reconsidering the relationship as she does not want to take a back seat to his obsession.

According to Deadline, the film will also feature cameos from Snoop Dogg, The Game, DJ Khaled, and Floyd Mayweather Jr, although Foxx previously told TMZ.com that everybody involved will be playing "different characters" - indicating that the sport stars will adopt different personas for the flick.

Shooting of the movie, which Foxx also scripted, began in California on Wednesday (26Oct16).

It is being co-produced by actor-producer Chuck Pacheco, Deon Taylor and Butch Kaplan.

All-Star Weekend doesn't have a set release date yet, but is just one of a series of projects Foxx is currently involved in. He is also currently filming Robin Hood: Origins, Sleepless and Baby Driver.
