Ben Affleck's new relationship 'isn't easy' for Jennifer Garner

Jennifer Garner has reportedly not found it easy to accept Ben Affleck's new relationship with Lindsay Shookus.

The 44-year-old actor who recently starred as superhero, Batman in the rebooted movie franchise, has been spotted on a series of romantic dates with the Saturday Night Live producer, but it has not been easy for his ex Jennifer as it has been rumoured he had a secret affair with Lindsay when the couple were still married.

The claims have been disputed with insiders insisting the couple were just friends and that nothing romantic happened between the pair until they had both officially split up with their partners.

“It would have been easier for Jen if Ben would have just dated someone that Jen wasn’t familiar with,” a source close to Jennifer told People Magazine.

However, it was no surprise to the Dallas Buyers Club actress that her estranged husband was already dating.

“She knew it would happen soon. Ben just can’t be alone," the source added. Another source told editors at People that Jennifer is coping by being "in mama-bear mode" and "putting the kids’ happiness first.” The couple have three children together, and

Lindsay, who shares a daughter with her ex, hasn’t reportedly met Ben and Jennifer's kids yet.

“Jen and Ben have talked about not introducing the kids to people they date until it’s serious,” the source explained adding that the actress "isn’t thinking about dating — she just wants to protect and spend time with the kids.”

Last week (6Jul17), Ben and Lindsay were spotted on a romantic date at restaurant Giorgio Baldi's in Los Angeles before the pair travelled to London, where Ben is currently working.

"Ben is enjoying Lindsay’s company, and they will continue to see each other," a source told US Weekly.

Ben and Jennifer split in June 2015, and in April 2017, the actress filed for divorce.
