Winona Ryder is reportedly set to earn $350,000 (£249,360) per Stranger Things episode after getting a massive pay rise for season three.

The 46-year-old actress stars as Joyce Byers in the hit Netflix series, and was the only big name to have signed up for the show when it first premiered in 2016. Now, however, many of the programme's stars have become household names, with their new-found fame reflected in a host of salary boosts negotiated with the streaming service.

According to Deadline, Winona and David Harbour, who plays police chief Jim Hopper in the show, will be earning up to $350,000 per episode of the programme and are on the "A tier" of the cast. That's compared to the $100,000 (£71,227) per episode Winona made for the first and second season of Stranger Things, and David's former $80,000 (£56,981) per episode salary.

The show's young cast members, Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin and Noah Schnapp, are on the "B tier" and will be bringing home around $250,000 (£178,029) per episode - a staggering 1,200 per cent increase on their salaries for the first and second seasons of the show.

Meanwhile, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton and Joe Keery, who play teenagers on the show, make up the "C tier", and will each receive around $150,000 per episode.

It’s unknown just how much Millie Bobby Brown is making for the third season. The 14-year-old British actress became a big name worldwide after she landed the breakout role of Eleven in the programme. It was previously reported that Millie is set apart from her young castmates, and may even be earning the $350,000 per episode that Winona and David are taking home. However, other reports suggest Millie is in her own tier and is on $300,000 (£213,635) per episode - putting her between the show's adult stars and the young actors on the cast.

Production on season three of Stranger Things is set to begin on 23 April (18), with fans hoping they will stick to their format for the first two seasons and premiere it in the latter stages of the year.
