Bella Thorne's investigation into a hacker who attempted to leak nude photos of her is well underway.

Bella posted the provocative pictures online earlier this month after a hacker threatened to release them, and the former Disney Channel star has now revealed she's "closer to finding" who's behind the hack in a string of text messages relating to the investigation.

“Rest assure my friend we are working on solving this to get you piece of mind," read the messages, which were shared by the 21-year-old on her Instagram Stories feed. "Respecting your wishes to not solicit criminal charges; we’ve had to solicit expert assistance with making 100 per cent sure we have I’d (identified) the correct person responsible for these insensitive invasion of your privacy.”

The Famous in Love star was forced to defend herself after posting the photos, after Whoopi Goldberg commented on her talk show The View: "Once you take that picture, it goes into the cloud and it's available to any hacker who wants it, and if you don't know that in 2019, that this is an issue, I'm sorry, you don't get to do that."

And while Bella slammed the remarks as "crazy", she has since shared another empowering message on her Instagram Stories, insisting women should not be held accountable for their photos getting leaked.

“Blaming girls for taking the photo in the first place? Is sick and honestly disgusting," she snapped. "So what, a girl can’t send her boyfriend that she misses photos of her that are sexy? Things he’s already seen? I, as a woman, should be so scared walking around my home, being on my phone, doing anything?

"Is that what u want our women to be like? Scared of the masses for their sexuality?? Is that what u want? I don’t (sic),” the Shake It Up star added.
