Uggie has come a long way from almost being put to sleep in a pound to now being the most talked about dog in the film that has 6 Golden Globe nominations and is tipped to sweep the board at The Oscars.

Following rave reviews and a stellar opening weekend for THE ARTIST on its exclusive London platform release, Uggie, the nine year old Jack Russell Terrier, canine star of the film will be arriving in London today for a week of media appearances including BBC’s The Graham Norton Show, BBC’s Newsround and a special screening of THE ARTIST for Dogs Trust. He joined the rest of the cast on the red carpet at the AFI premiere of THE ARTIST and has since appeared on E! News and had features in both the New York Post and The Daily Beast. He recently took part in a photo shoot for The Hollywood Reporter and W Magazine. Coming up are pieces in both USA Today and People Pets. Movieline's S.T. VanAirsdale started an awards campaign on Facebook called 'Consider Uggie' which has more than 4,000 followers. Uggie is active in social media with his own Twitter account @Uggie_TheArtist.

Uggie’s co-star, the lead actor, Jean Dujardin, took home the Best Actor Award at Cannes in May; THE ARTIST also received the Best Film and Best Director Awards at the New York Film Critics Circle in early December. It is also currently bookies favourite for the Best Picture Oscar. THE ARTIST will be charming audiences across the country from this Friday 6 January.
