New York Women in Film & Television (NYWIFT) will present Made in New York: Comedy Makers panel on Thursday, November 3 from 6-7:20 PM at Carolines on Broadway (1626 Broadway), in collaboration with Caroline Hirsch and the Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment (MOME) as part of the New York Comedy Festival. Doors open at 5:15 PM.
The panel has been designated by the Mayor's Office of Media and Entertainment as one of 50 events throughout the year to provide an inside look at New York's entertainment industry, in celebration of the agency’s 50th anniversary. All 50 of these events are being presented to the public free of charge.
“New York City is a hotbed for the most creative and boundary-pushing comedy being made today, and we are thrilled to support this event,” said MOME Commissioner Julie Menin. “This discussion will allow New Yorkers to hear from some of the best in the business about the unique challenges and opportunities presented by being a woman in comedy. I thank NYWIFT and Caroline’s for their partnership and commitment to creating meaningful opportunities for women in the media and entertainment industries.”
“The annual comedy panel, now in its fourth year, has become a highlight of NYWIFT’s programming season,” said NYWIFT Executive Director Terry Lawler. “It is an honor to be recognized by MOME, and we are especially proud to partner with them given their recent commitment to women in the industry.”
Panelists include Jeannie Gaffigan (The Jim Gaffigan Show), Carrie Keagan (Big Morning Buzz Livewith Carrie Keagan), Julie Rottenberg (Odd Mom Out) and Liz Tuccillo (How to Be Single). Cat Greenleaf of Talk Stoop with Cat Greenleaf will moderate, and Dion Flynn, best known for playing Barack Obama on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, will emcee.

We’ve assembled a panel of really talented women — some of the greatest comedy makers in the business — who will be discussing why comedy is so important to be made in New York and about New York.”
