The Revenger: An Unromantic Comedy, starring Robert Kazinsky, Samantha Barks, Rachel Hurd-Wood, Edward Speleers and Tony Way, has started shooting in London (4 July, 2017).

The film, written and directed by Mark Murphy, is a fresh take on the familiar rom-com film format which sees one man’s quest for love turn to revenge when his wife-to-be attempts to take him for all he’s worth.

Warcraft star Robert Kazinsky, who plays tech entrepreneur Mark, goes on a spree of hilarious antics with Tony Way (The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, Edge of Tomorrow) as best friend Tim, when he discovers his dream girl only wants him for his money.

Expecting a life of glamour, his fiancé Connie – played by Les Misérables star Samantha Barks – is subjected to a series of pranks to see just how far she will go to get her hands on his impending £20 million fortune.

With Rachel Hurd-Wood (Tomorrow, When The War Began, Peter Pan) and Edward Speleers (Plastic, Downton Abbey, Eragon) as accomplices on either side of the plot, a story of love, revenge and – possibly – closure unfolds.

Said Robert Kazinsky: "I'm very excited to be working at home in the UK for the first time in a decade and on a project that excites me. The Revenger is a twist on modern romantic comedies and I can't wait to jump into it.”

Samantha Barks said: “Connie is a great character and right at the heart of many of the jokes in this story. It’s my first comedic film and I am so excited to get started with the team.”

Rachel Hurd-Wood added: “The Revenger is a wonderfully unexpected and amusing story, one which I can't wait to be a part of. This is my first comedy so I’ll do my best not to f*** it up.”

Director/writer Mark Murphy said: “I’m literally bursting with excitement for this film, it’s going to get messy. Right from the rehearsals it’s clear that we’ve got an awesome and hilarious cast; the potential here is spectacular. I’m raring to go.”

For Murphy, The Revenger is his second feature comedy (following up The Comedian’s Guide To Survival, 2016) and his fifth feature film to date. The film is produced by his own company, Solar Productions, in association with GSP Studios.

Filming will take place at a variety of locations in the West London and Greater London areas.
