In addition to the already confirmed Gala Premieres, the ZFF announces new films from Tonie Marshall, Destin Daniel Cretto, Amanda Sthers and Silvio Soldini.
EUPHORIA will receive its European premiere at the Zurich Film Festival on 29 September. Star and producer Alicia Vikander will attend, along with writer/director Lisa Langseth, cast members Charles Dance, Mark Stanley and fellow producers Charles Collier, Patrik Andersson and Frida Bargo.
Alicia Vikander
Academy Award®-winning actress Alicia Vikander is one of the most promising actors of her generation. Since making her film debut in Langseth’s directorial debut PURE in 2010, for which she won a prestigious Guldbagge Award (Sweden's version of the Oscars®) for Best Actress in a Leading Role, Vikander has garnered recognition for a diverse range of roles.
Vikander’s sensitive portrayal of Gerda Wegener in Tom Hooper’s THE DANISH GIRL resulted in her winning an Academy Award® for Best Supporting Actress. This portrayal also won her a SAG Award and Critics Choice Award amongst others and multiple nominations including Golden Globe and BAFTA, where she was nominated in two categories – Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress for THE DANISH GIRL and EX MACHINA respectively.
Vikander has recently completed filming the much-anticipated reboot of TOMB RAIDER as Lara Croft. Directed by Roar Uthaug, the film will be released in 2018. Vikander also stars in Wim Wenders’ upcoming romantic thriller SUBMERGENCE, opposite James McAvoy.
