Below 6 is based on a true story; the story of Eric LaMarque who survived 8 long days, stranded on the High Sierra Mountains, lost in a massive winter storm, left alone to face his inner demons and the biting cold.

Josh Hartnett plays Eric LaMarque, an ex-professional hockey player who lost his way. He left his team, fell into the temporary highs of drugs and is set to appear in court after being involved in a severe car crash.
Trapped into this spiral of self-destruction, LaMarque isolates himself in a cabin near the High Sierra Mountains where he snowboards in between coke intakes.

On what seems like an ordinary morning, he goes up to the mountain and decides to do some off-track snowboarding. All is well until a massive storm falls upon the mountain. Eric gets lost and tries to survive, armed with his board, a radio, a cell-phone and a small bag of drugs.

His journey through survival is spiked by flash-backs from his childhood: his father always pushed him to fight against himself and the others. A hard lesson that will help Eric survive 8 days on the mountain.

Led by Josh Hartnett, who delivers an outstanding performance, Below 6 is a gripping and chilling story of survival. If a man can fight a mountain for 8 days and make it out alive, it feels like pretty much anything is possible! Below 6 is a humbling lesson: at the end of the film, you get to meet the real Eric LaMarque and can’t help but feel small next to this man who survived the impossible and fought so hard to live.

Stuck in a downward spiral, the mountain taught Eric to appreciate every minute of his life and to look forward.
Below 6 is definitely a film not to miss as it will make you feel incredibly lucky to be alive!
