Brooke Mueller must reportedly attend parenting classes if she wants to regain custody of her children with Charlie Sheen.
Her four-year-old twins Bob and Max have been cared for by Charlie's ex-wife Denise Richards since she entered a rehab facility for drug addiction. Although Brooke is desperate to get her sons back, she will apparently need to follow a series of measures to prove she is capable.
"The Los Angeles County of Department of Children & Family Services has prepared a laundry list of things Brooke must do before the agency can sign off on her retaining custody of the twins. After Brooke is formally discharged from her rehab facility, she must immediately give her contact information to a drug testing company. She can expect to be randomly drug tested at least twice a week,” a source told Radar.
“If she fails to appear for the drug test, it will be considered a dirty test. She will need to enrol in parenting classes, and successfully complete, and provide proof that she is going to 12-step meetings at least once a week. Her visitation with the twins will be strictly monitored by a social worker. In short, Brooke will have to jump through hoops to get the boys back.”
Brooke was reportedly recently ordered to appear in front of a judge to explain why she had moved from the Betty Ford treatment centre to another facility in Orange County, California.
It has been reported the 35-year-old didn't enjoy the manual labour and chores expected of patients there.
A custody hearing has been scheduled for later this month and it has been suggested Denise's temporary guardianship will be extended for another six months. Brooke's recovery will be closely monitored during this period.
"There are absolutely no guarantees that Brooke will get custody back of the twins. They are thriving in Denise’s care, and Brooke must show a drastic change and commitment to her sobriety,” the source added.
Meanwhile, it has been reported Charlie has filed legal documents to halt his child support payments to Brooke. He apparently shells out $55,000 a month, but doesn't believe he should continue to hand over the money while his ex-wife Brooke isn't caring for their sons.
"[Charlie] thinks it's absurd he should pay her anything while she's in rehab, because she doesn't have the kids - they're with Denise Richards," TMZ reports. "Charlie believes Brooke is using almost all the money for her rehab - something he doesn't want to pay for. Charlie has paid for several of Brooke's rehab stints before, and he doesn't think he owes her that obligation any longer."
Charlie has reportedly offered to pay Denise child support for Bob and Max, but she has declined.
Denise and Charlie have two daughters together.
