Cara D: I work really hard

Cara Delevingne won’t apologise after her now infamous interview.

The 22-year-old model turned actress appeared via video link up on Good Morning Sacramento on Wednesday to promote her new movie Paper Towns.

Her awkward answers, which were prompted after the hosts introduced her as ‘Carla’ and asked if she had read the book on which the film is based before filming began, caused the interview to quickly go viral.

One such response saw Cara sarcastically answer: “No, I never read the book or script. I just winged it.”

Following the interview, Paper Towns author John Green penned an essay insisting that Cara had done nothing wrong.

“Cara, however, refuses to stick to the script,” he wrote. “She refuses to indulge lazy questions and refuses to turn herself into an automaton to get through long days of junketry. I don’t find that behavior entitled or haughty. I find it admirable. Cara Delevingne doesn’t exist to feed your narrative or your news feed?—?and that’s precisely why she’s so f**king interesting.”

Cara later posted a screenshot of John’s essay, thanking the author for his comments.

She then continued to tell her fans that she certainly won’t be apologising for her actions – despite being criticised for her responses in the interview on shows including US debate programme The View.

“I am soooooo lucky and anyone who thinks I am unappreciative or ungrateful clearly doesn’t know me,” Cara tweeted on Thursday. “I work really really hard and love what I do, I don’t feel like I need to apologise for being human.”
