(Cover) - EN Movies - Charlize Theron doesn’t like “aha! moments” at the end of movies as they don’t seem real.

The actress thinks carefully before she signs on to a film as it’s important to her that the storyline and characters are believable.

She plays an unlikeable teenage fiction writer called Mavis in Young Adult and was drawn to the part because she doesn’t change completely.

“When I first read the script I thought that she was a brave character. Diablo [Cody, writer] created a protagonist who learns a lesson in life but doesn't necessarily change her life,” she explained to fem.com. “That felt very real, very human to me. Sometimes when I watch a movie the characters aren't real and I get this aha! moment at the end of the film when they completely turn their life around. I don't know any people like that in real life.”

Young Adult has received favourable reviews, which Charlize is pleased about. Although she loved the script as soon as she read it and enjoying shooting the project, she is never sure if filmgoers will agree with her opinion.

“It's always a surprise. I'm always amazed when people like my movies. Your experiences from the set don’t relate to the actual film. You can't assume that people will like it. So it's always a really pleasant surprise when people react positively and can identify with your character,” she explained.
